Cookie policy
Which cookies this site uses, what they are for, and why there is no banner asking you to accept them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some exist only to make the pages work; others, profiling cookies, follow people from site to site to build an advertising profile. The difference matters, because the law treats the two categories differently.
2. The cookies on this site
This site uses technical cookies only, all first-party, and all necessary for the pages to work and stay secure. These are they:
| Name | What it does | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| tanaw-kapwa-session | Keeps your browsing session alive: without it, submitting the forms and signing in to the restricted area would not work. | 2 hours |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Protects the forms against request forgery (CSRF attacks): it checks that the form was really submitted by your browser, from the right page. | 2 hours |
Both expire on their own and are removed when you close the browser or when the duration above runs out.
3. What we do not use
On this site you will not find:
- profiling or behavioural advertising cookies;
- traffic statistics or analytics tools of any kind;
- third-party cookies;
- social buttons that embed content from other platforms.
The links to our social profiles are plain links: until you click them, those platforms receive nothing. The typefaces too are hosted on our own servers rather than fetched from outside providers, so reading the pages tells nobody your IP address.
4. Why there is no banner
A banner exists to collect consent, and consent is needed only for cookies that are not strictly technical. Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code, and the Italian supervisory authority's Guidelines of June 2021, exempt from consent those cookies used for the sole purpose of carrying out a communication or providing a service explicitly requested by the user. That is exactly what the two cookies above do: asking your permission for them would be a question with no possible answer, because refusing them would stop the site from working.
Should we introduce tools that do require consent — an analytics system or an embedded video, for instance — a banner compliant with those Guidelines will appear: refusing made as easy as accepting, separate choices per category, and no non-technical cookie installed before you have chosen.
5. Removing them from your browser
You can view and delete cookies at any time from your browser settings, usually under Privacy or Security. Bear in mind, though, that deleting the two technical cookies listed here will stop the site's forms from working until you reload the page.
6. Personal data and your rights
The processing of personal data related to browsing, and of the data you give us through the forms, is described in the privacy notice, which also sets out your rights and how to exercise them.
This document is also available in Italian. Should the two versions differ, the Italian text prevails.
